March Newsletter
Easter Greetings!
How are you all coping with the 'new normal'? This different way of living is a challenge to us all and we hope that the football community provides one outlet for keeping you connected.
A massive shout out of thanks to all our members and their families who work in our emergency and essential services. Please know we are truly grateful for all you do and will continue to do in the months ahead.
Covid-19 UPDATE:
In the interests of not clogging up your inbox with Covid-19 updates, we have not been sending out an email update everytime FFA or NSFA does. However, you will always find the latest information we have been provided on our website Home Page under Featured Articles.
Season Start Date: The NSFA are currently working towards 31st May in line with the FFA and are hoping to have more accurate information regarding a start date by the 20th May. As with all things Caronavirus related, the situation is evolving all the time.
The NSFA are currently working hard behind the scenes exploring every alternative solution with clubs and local councils to extend the football season and squeeze as many games into whatever time frame we are given, as is possibly safe to do so.
Once the season resumes, you will see some changes to the competition formats to ensure our competitions maintain their integrity whilst also abiding by Government guidelines at the time.
LFC: we are making the most of the Carona downtime with initiatives such as the Youtube Coaching Channel, the Weekly Skills Challenge, improving the website and online store, stocking up the Uniform Shop and WLSRC have launched their TakeAway Menu. More details on these below!
REFUNDS
In regard to Refunds, Ed Ferguson, the NSFA & Northern Tigers CEO has this request.
"As in previous communication, we ask our football community to maintain their football registration for season 2020. By retaining your registration, you are helping your club and NSFA staff plan accordingly which is extremely important to be consistent during these times, particularly whilst working alongside external stakeholders."
At LFC you can rest assured, that as per the NSFA guidelines, pro-rata refunds will be provided depending on how the season is impacted. As you would appreciate, further information is required prior to NSFA and LFC confirming what this may look like. NSFA are working with FFA, Football NSW, the insurance company and NSFA clubs to fully understand this situation. More details will follow as the impact becomes clear. We will keep you up to date and thank you for your understanding and patience.
NSFA has confirmed that Active Kids vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash. This is in direct guidelines with the T&C’s of the vouchers.

A bit of Fun and Community Spirit:
Here are a couple of fun activities to help the kids feel connected to their football community over the Easter Holidays:
#PutYourBallOut⚽
Put your Ball Out is similar to the #PutYourBatsOut for Phil Hughes and the popular Teddy Bear Hunt.
All you have to do is put a Football on your porch or front yard or hang your favourite football team shirt in the window.
As families pass by on their local walk/bike ride during the holidays, the kids can keep a look out for fellow Football households.
You can use the #PutYourBallOut and #LindfieldFC on social media or send pics to info@lfc.asn.au to post on our website.
DESIGN YOUR OWN KIT:
Always dreamed of running your own team and designing a superstar kit for them? Well here is your chance. Grab out the colouring pens and pencils, we have a blank colouring-in sheet for you to dream big and design the ultimate Home and Away football kits.
Download it here.

Best Footballer in the World Ever: Eric Cantona – OK, maybe not the best but the biggest character and my all-time favourite.

Most Captivating Game ever Watched: England winning the World cup in 1966.
Interestingly ABC Grandstand is running a competition to VOTE for your Favourite Sporting Trophy. It has come down to our much admired A-League Trophy vs the Ashes urn. We are ahead slightly so make sure of it and VOTE NOW - closes midday GOOD FRIDAY!!!!
