Masters Players Page

Men Over: 35, 45 & 55
Women Over: 30 & 45 - new divisions 2024

Welcome to the Lindfield FC Master’s page, playing football is a great way to keep fit, meet new people and participate in a community sport. We run a large number of Women’s and Men’s teams in the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) competitions. The Club offers community football for all different skill and commitment levels - whether serious or social (beginners most welcome). The 2023 Women’s World Cup has seen an explosion of participation in Women’s soccer and we would encourage you to come and join us in this fun sport.

Some teams do preseason grading sessions and trial games in February.
Teams for the season will be selected by early March. Players must be registered to be allocated to a team.

If you are interested in playing with Lindfield please read below for further information and get in touch with the relevant age coordinator, we are keen to hear from you! Please note that we are forced by NSFA to have our team submissions in by 2nd week of February, so if you are a new team wishing to join, you must advise your Age Coordinator by the beginning of Feb.

What Overs teams are there?

Lindfield FC has teams competing at all levels.

Men

  • Over 35: 5 teams, one in each division 1-5

  • Over 45: 4 teams across divisions 2-4

  • Over 55: 1 team, Sat afternoon, full size pitch, but using typically smaller fields - no team planned in 2024, but please register your interest with Haran.

Women

  • Over 30: New Age Group - 2 Divisions

  • Over 45: New Age Group - 2 Divisions

When & Where are Games Played?

The season usually starts in early April and runs through to mid-August. There are normally 18 games plus potentially finals.  Games are 11 v11 and 90 minutes duration, often followed by social drinks at the clubhouse. They are usually played:

  • Mixed on Saturdays at 1pm or 3pm (with the occasional Sunday afternoon or Friday / Saturday evening instead).

  • Women’s on Sundays at 1pm or 3pm

Home games are at local grounds such as Primula, Koola, Charles Bean or Queen Elizabeth.  Away games are played all around the Northern Suburbs (from North Sydney to Berowra).  Click here to  Find A Ground and the location details.

The schedule of matches (draw) can be found under Fixtures & Results. This is where you will also be able to find the Results of matches and your teams standing on the Competition Table.

  • New Women’s Over 30 & 45 competition

Great news! Significant growth of the female game over the last few years, means that NSFA can now introduce 2 Age Groups for our Women’s Masters. The aim is to have 2 x Divisions in both.

    • Women Over 30 (WO30) Minimum age 30, no maximum age

    • Women Over 45 (WO45), Minimum age 45, no maximum age

    • These replace the original women over 35s age group.

    • Dispensations will be considered to help clubs with the transition. Each team can nominate 3 players aged between 40 – 44 for the 2024 season before the season commences.

  • Men’s Over 55 11-Aside

In 2023 we were excited to submit a team into the inaugural, mens over 55 competition which caters to the growing number of players that are aged over 55 and want to continue playing competitive football. We would love to have a team in this competition but unfortunately don’t have the numbers in 2024, however if you are interested please get in touch and we’ll find a spot for you in our newly formed lowest grade over 45s team for new and returning from a long break players. The aim is to eventually move to the 55s competition and keep playing.

This ground breaking initiative, a first in New South Wales, has garnered tremendous enthusiasm from players and managers alike. With a focus on fostering friendly competition and strengthening bonds among participants, seven teams from six clubs played 11-a-side football on (smaller) full-size fields for 90 minutes of exhilarating football, every week of the winter season.

  • Note EVERY Senior Mens Team needs to provide a Referee if NSFRA hasn't assigned match officials or if they don't show up - the home team must provide the referee, and each team needs to provide an assistant referee (AR).

Where can I find out Important Dates?

All the latest information on “What’s Happening at LFC” can be found on the Home page. We encourage you to keep an eye on the Notice Board for events, wet weather and important dates information such as season start dates.

Do the teams train?

Training during the season is usually once per week at local grounds, however some teams do not train at all.

  • Mixed: usually Tuesday or Wednesday 7.30-9pm

  • Women: usually Thursday 7.30-9pm

Precise times and grounds are allocated at the start of the season. Preseason training takes place at different times during February and March. Please refer to our Training Grounds Allocation Policy for the detail of how grounds are allocated.

Can I play with a group of mates?

We are keen to accommodate playing with mates, and will fit groups of up to five into a suitable team.

What equipment do I need?

To get started, you need only a few items. These, plus additional gear are available to order through our online store.

  • Lindfield Blue Playing Shirt

  • Lindfield Shorts

  • Lindfield Socks

  • Shin pads & football boots are mandatory

  • White Shirts may also be needed when the opposition is playing in a similar dark blue or there are 2 LFC teams in the same division. NSFA rules dictate that the AWAY team wears white. Please contact your Age Coordinator if you need more information or how to source these for occasional matches.

  • Shirt Numbers: Both shirts must be numbered with a unique number within the team and the number must be the same on both the Blue and White shirts.

Uniform Shop

  • Place your order through our Online Store and wait for the confirmation email to say that it is ready for pickup.

  • Pickup is onsite at the Uniform Shop downstairs, under the clubhouse.

  • Opening hours vary, but the shop is always open Friday nights during the season (except holidays), plus additional nights and some Saturdays in Feb/March before the competition starts.

  • Please always check the website for specific hours as it varies throughout the season.

TOP TIP: get in early to avoid the queues in the last few weeks before kickoff!

How much does it cost?

Please refer to our Registration Fees page. The majority of these fees are used to pay NSFA for registration, player insurance, field hire and general competition administration. The remainder is used for equipment and club administration expenses. The club tries to keep fees as low as possible given overheads imposed by NSFA and levies the from Football New South Wales.

*For insurance reasons please note that a player cannot play until they have reistered.  The club will endeavour to find a team for all players. To ensure that all squads have the appropriate numbers of players there is a limit to the number of players who can be registered so to give yourself the best chance of ensuring you will have a team it is imperative that players attend grading (where held) and register as early as possible.
