KEEP CHARLES BEAN SYNTHETIC!

NSFA’s analysis shows that returning Charles Bean Oval to natural turf would reduce weekly field capacity from approximately 80 hours to just 30 hours, with no spare capacity across the LGA to absorb the loss. This would impact players across all age groups through fewer training opportunities, increased field closures, and reduced access to football facilities.

To help protect community access to the game, NSFA has launched the Keep Kids Playing campaign, encouraging members and supporters to contact local councillors in support of retaining synthetic field capacity at Charles Bean Oval.

Current state of Queen Elizabeth Reserve, West Lindfield — May 2026.

Frequent closures, worn surfaces, and limited usability highlight the challenges of relying solely on natural turf under growing community demand. This is the reality we risk facing more broadly without adequate synthetic field capacity.

Parent Workshops

There’s a better way to support your child in sport.

Lindfield FC is excited to host a free parent workshop this June with Nick Marr from PlayFree — an engaging and practical session designed to help parents better support their child’s sporting journey and enjoyment of the game.

This 60-minute workshop will explore how the conversations we have as parents can positively shape a child’s confidence, motivation and overall experience in sport.

Two sessions are available:

  • Wednesday 17 June · 6:00pm – 7:00pm

  • Thursday 18 June · 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Where: Lindfield FC Clubhouse (Lindfield Sports Centre)
