Celebrating Our Strong Female Football Program at LFC
At LFC, we take immense pride in our thriving female football program, which stands as one of the largest in the region. With 524 female players across 32 teams, ranging from our youngest G6 Mini Matildas to our forever-young W45 over team, we are proud to support and empower women and girls at all levels of the game. But none of this is possible without a fabulous support network of coaches, volunteers, families, and our passionate community.
As we celebrate the incredible growth and success of our female footballers, we want to share some exciting preseason highlights, including the unforgettable Ryde Mazda G18A Melbourne Tour, where our talented team competed fiercely and bonded off the pitch. We also were thrilled with the success of our Mini Matildas Introduction to Football program, which welcomed so many eager young players into the world of football.
With Female Football Week just around the corner, we’re planning to showcase the strength, spirit, and achievements of our women and girls. We want this to be a fun and inspiring week for everyone involved—and we’d love your input! Do you have ideas on how we can make this week even more special? Are you interested in joining the subcommittee to help plan the celebrations? We’d love to hear from you!

Ryde Mazda Diamond League G18A Preseason Tour in Melbourne ⚽️✨
Our G18A girls had an incredible weekend in Melbourne for their preseason tour, playing three matches against tough competition and coming out with three well-earned wins!
A standout moment was playing at the brand new Home of the Matildas, where the girls showcased their skill and sportsmanship alongside opponents Riversdale FC, Darebin Falcons, and Nunawading FC.
Off the pitch, the team had a blast exploring the South Melbourne Markets, scoring great deals at DFO, and soaking in the riverside vibe after a group dinner at The Boatyard.
The girls leave Melbourne with unforgettable memories, strengthened friendships, and newfound inspiration that will fuel them throughout this season and beyond. What an incredible way to kickstart theseason ahead! A huge thank you to everyone who made this amazing tour possible!

Mini Matildas Introduction to Football Program a Huge Success!
We are thrilled to share the success of our Mini Matildas Introduction to Football program! With 25 girls joining us for the first time, all of whom had never played before, the program was a fantastic introduction to the game. More than half of these girls loved it so much that they’ve signed up to play for the season!
Despite the weather not always being on our side, it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of our newest Mini Matildas. They showed up with smiles, determination, and plenty of enthusiasm—ready to learn and play no matter what!
Not only did the program help the girls build their confidence, but it also gave them essential skills to take the field with excitement now that the season has begun. The energy is contagious, and we can’t wait to watch them grow as footballers!
A special thank you to the Growing Football Community Grants, supported by CommBank and Football Australia, which made this initiative possible and allowed us to provide the girls who registered for the season with a FREE Lindfield FC playing kit, complete with shin pads!
We look forward to seeing all the new faces out on the pitch this season! ⚽✨
