Welcome to Season 2025

Welcome Back to Football!

We hope you had a wonderful offseason, connecting with friends and family over the holidays. February is the month to:

  • Get registered in Play Football,

  • Organise your team - make sure your manager is in touch with your Age Group Coordinator.

    • Juniors can submit a Play with Friends request for 2+ players, or your AC will find you a team using the school you attend as a guide.

    • Seniors, let your Age Coordinator know your plans so they can nominate a team to NSFA competitions for you.

  • Agree a Manager who MUST be registered in Play Football before your team will be visible on Dribl.
Note ALL Junior and MiniRoos team managers MUST have a current Working with Children Certificate).

Another great reason to get registered by the end of February is that all EARLY BIRD registrations will save $20. From March 1st a late fee applies.

The start of Season 2025 has had its challenges! There’s a new registration system from Football Australia that requires some patience and persistence (see advice below), we’ve faced some out-of-stock issues in the uniform shop (stock is expected any day now), and there’s been some confusion around the shirt number allocation process (more details below). However, Football Australia, the NSFA, our dedicated staff, and our wonderful volunteer team are all working hard to get everything sorted, so you’re ready to play and enjoy the season ahead.

Our list of volunteer Age Coordinators and Committee Members can be found on our Contact Us Website page.

LFC Admin Office Open: business hours Monday - Friday

Football has always been a unifying force, binding us together as we face challenges, overcome setbacks, and grow stronger as a team. Let’s tackle these obstacles together and embrace the spirit of the game in our every interaction and make this season one to remember!

NEW players - who have never played football before in Australia, simply set up a new Play Football account to REGISTER.

RETURNING players - BEFORE you register:

  • CLAIM your existing FFA Number/ID (both existing LFC members or new to LFC).

  • Use ONLY your First + Surname + DOB when claiming your account

  • A full explanation of how to register in 2025 can be found on our REGISTER PAGE

  • If you are getting errors or it seems to be glitching - try another time or day - there are times the system is overloaded.

What to do if you accidentally set up another FFA ID?

  • Don’t stress - KEEP GOING with REGISTRATION.

  • We need to have you in the system to start putting teams together.

  • You can advise Play Football to MERGE the 2 accounts by lodging a ticket  - this will log you in their system

  • The support team will get back to you, (there is a massive delay of weeks at the moment, but they are working around the clock to get the backlog cleared).

  • ACs if you end up with 2 FFA IDs, please let Tace our Registrar know so she can ensure you have access to Dribl.

Uniform Shop NEWS

  • All players need to wear LFC Blue McGrath Shirts, LFC shorts and LFC socks.

  • These can be purchased via our online uniform shop and collected from the physical shop, downstairs at the Clubhouse.

  • Shop reopens on Friday Feb, 7th, 4-6pm.

  • Opening hours are found on the Uniform Shop Website. Please check the hours as they can vary month to month but usually we are open most Friday nights throughout the pre and winter season.

  • Current Out of Stock items items: Medium and Large socks, Mens shorts S/M/L, Women shorts S/M, Youth shorts 2XS and XS. NOTE most stock is arriving hopefully this week, socks likely the following week) - if you can see it available on the website means we have stock.

SHIRT NUMBER ALLOCATION

ALL competition players from Under 12 to Adults (plus JDL U8-U11ys and G10 Diamond League)

OUR GOAL: Ensure unique shirt numbers within each team and minimise duplication across age groups.

Shirt Number Assignment

  • Shirt numbers are allocated by the Uniform Shop, not by managers or Age Coordinators (ACs). This is different to recent seasons, but is necessitated by the uniform shop staff being the only ones who know what numbered shirts, in which sizes, they have in stock.

  • The Shirt Number Master List tracks available numbers for each team and age group, helping to ensure no duplication. The Uniform Shop will assign the next available number based on this list.

  • Number sequencing (e.g 1-11) is not important; nor achievable in most instances - the focus is on avoiding duplicate numbers within a team.
There is no option to REQUEST a particular number (unless you already have a Blue shirt and need to get a white shirt with the matching number). Please respect our staff’s time (and the long queues) and don’t ask them for particular numbers.

Player Responsibilities

  • Existing Players: Confirm with your manager if you plan to keep your current shirt number for the season. If you need a new shirt, you will receive a new number

  • New Players: Order a shirt from the shop (ideally, try a sample first from the shop or a teammate to avoid mistakes). Inform your manager of your allocated shirt number once received

  • Social team players are requested to wait until your manager advises you to order your shirt - we need a list of the full team and any existing numbers before we can allocate new players a number.
