February 2022: Coaching News
PRESEASON 2022
By Chris Deblaere, Technical Director
What a jam-packed February it has been! The Bathurst and Proctor Cups were held at the beginning of the month. Welcome to Football for our U6 & U7 boys and girls were a great success - lots of happy, smiling faces and parents who walked away armed with plenty of new knowlege of how they could best support their child in football thanks to Coach Coordinator Luke Harris. “I loved watching you play today!” is all they really need to hear you say!
Our new format, “Back to Football” events for older age groups, helped select the remaining Dev Team positions as well as letting social team players dust off the cobwebs and provided a reality check of the fitness level needed out on the pitch.
SAP Development Trials (U6-U11 girls and boys) have just been completed and the Coaching/AC team are madly trying to get the information together and out to you.
IMPORTANT: for all NEWLY formed Dev Teams there will be a Parent Information Briefing THIS SUNDAY 27th, 4pm at the Clubhouse.

Coach Induction and Education
Thanks to Luke Harris and NSFA Coach Development team for supporting a dozen of our young coaches when delivering the first new ‘Block 2 - How We Coach’ module.
Developers and new coaches worked together applying the theory from ‘Block 1’s Introduction to Coaching’ (held the week prior at the clubhouse with 22 young coaches in attendance) ,onto the pitch, delivering real life coaching methods and practices for the first time.
Credit goes to the all our enthusiastic your coaches who showed real commitment, embracing the chance to learn throughout these sessions as they start their coaching journey.
Last Sunday also saw our entire Coaching team come together for a Coaching Induction Day. Paperwork and Admin were completed, stylish new uniforms picked up, and another informative mentoring session delivered from Luke Harris - imparting years of coaching and teaching wisdom to eager ears. Then some fun sharing pizza and a few games on the courts.
