Friendship in Football
Football isn't just about what happens on the pitch!
Here is a heart warming story about the friendships football brings our community and the supportive culture within the NSFA Women’s Premier League.
Earlier this season Lindfield’s Jemima Davison suffered a serious injury during a NSFA Women’s Premier League match against Turramurra United. In what was a very tough experience for Jemima the support from the NSFA community has been extraordinary.
“It brings tears to my eyes seeing all the girls from different teams are there for each other,” Jemima said.
Jemima shared with Lindfield Club President Sarah the incredible support she has received from her NSFA Women’s Select teammates. “Lorin, the girl who took me to the hospital is a West Pymble player. She was MVP for NSFA last year and we met in select. She’s been so wonderful and Ella Boudakin, golden boot from Northbridge last year has sent me the most lovely message and has been so supportive.”
“I was saying to them that I love how whilst we compete fiercely on the pitch, we have so much respect for each other as players and we are all in women’s football for the same reason, which is to play decent football and have fun.
“I am really grateful NSFA has facilitated those kind of relationships, where women are supporting women and want the best for one another.”
NSFA wishes Jemima all the best in her recovery! The NSFA Women’s Select forms part of the NSFA’s What’s Best For Her strategy and our goal to develop an inclusive and empowering culture for female football. Click here to read about the Women's Select win over MWFA earlier this year.
Jemima our thoughts are with you! All at LFC send our very best wishes for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you back out on the pitch.
